Spring Has Sprung @ DH

The days are getting longer, the air is fresher, and everything is blooming including our beloved fig tree.

In the fierce storms of 2023, our fig tree was blown over. For our young people, it wasn’t just a tree it was a symbol of growth, nourishment, and hope. Its fruit, rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium, had quietly supported their healing journeys.

When the tree fell, the sorrow was real. But with gentle hands and determined hearts, our young people rallied. They cleared the debris, propped up its roots, and nurtured it back to life.

One of our gardeners said it best:

“The tree is a bit like what we do with the kids when they fall down, we prop them up, tend to their wounds, and nurture them back to life. And they too will rise again.”

Now, as spring arrives, our fig tree stands tall once again, stronger, fuller, and more vibrant than ever and here is Brad our wellness coach tending to the tree which is a living testament to resilience, community and the nurturing work we do every day in helping our young people get back into lives worth living.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for being part of that journey.
