Millwater Ladies Group
A Big Thank You to the Millwater Ladies Group for providing much need supplies to Youth In Transition. Along with the consumable daily items, such as tissues, tea, coffee, cookies, soup etc., they kindly provided a bag of new clothes to give to our young people. Your care is heart-warming and appreciated.
A meeting with the Mental Health Inquiry team
In mid June 2018, we were able to meet with the team from the Mental Health Inquiry. This was a powerful and exciting opportunity to share Youth In Transition’s philosophies and successes.
Rotary Swimarathon
In a truly herculean effort, Youth In Transition swam 171 lengths of the Stanmore Bay leisure centre pool in one hour. Megan Butler and Mark Butler swam the majority of the lengths, while Clifford Jones, Hannah Longley and Grayson Nipper failed to avoid being lapped by school children in the adjacent lane. It was a fun day and a great fundraiser for Youth in Transition and Hibiscus Coast Youth Centre.
Guest speaker: Jimi Hunt
We were privileged to have Jimi Hunt as a guest speaker for us in June 2017. Jimi is known for ‘lilo-ing down the Waikato River to raise awareness of depression’, creating ‘the worlds biggest waterslide’ and for his inspiring charity called Live More Awesome. Jimi works tirelessly to inspire others who are struggling with their mental health, through innovative ideas such as his free mental health reset programmes and his general holistic, no bullsh*t approach to life and wellbeing.
