Lets Make Some Noise

Duke House is about to come alive with the sound of music!

We have some incredibly talented young people who are keen to start a band, and we'd love to help make that dream a reality.

Music has an amazing way of bringing people together. It builds confidence, creates connection, provides a healthy outlet for emotions, and reminds our young people that they belong. We can't wait to hear laughter, creativity, and music echoing through Duke House.

Research consistently shows that hope, belonging, and strong social connections are among the most powerful protective factors for young people's mental health and suicide prevention. Creating music together gives young people a place to be seen, heard, supported, and connected. Sometimes a band becomes so much more than a band - it becomes a community, a safe place, and a reason to keep showing up.

We're reaching out to our wonderful community to see if anyone has any instruments they are no longer using and would be willing to donate. We're looking for items such as:

  • Guitars (acoustic or electric)

  • Drum kit or electronic drums

  • Keyboard

  • Microphones and stands

  • Bass guitar

  • Guitar amps or small PA system

  • Percussion instruments

  • Tambourine, or anything else that could help our young musicians get started!

If you have an instrument collecting dust in the cupboard, imagine the difference it could make in a young person's life. Your generosity could help create friendships, inspire confidence, and perhaps even uncover the next great Kiwi band!

If you'd like to donate, or know someone who might be able to help, please get in touch. Together, let's fill Duke House with hope, healing, connection, and the sound of music.
