Space To Breathe

Sometimes, a little space can make a world of difference.

This week, we had some special visitors to Duke House for a therapy walk in the bush - and, of course, the dogs came along for the adventure.

There’s something powerful about taking a dog out of the city and watching them become themselves again. Away from concrete, traffic, noise and constant stimulation, they have space to run, explore, get muddy, follow their noses and simply be dogs.

And perhaps there’s something in that for us, too.

Our guests reflected on how moving to the city can sometimes leave us craving the very same things the dogs need:

Space. Nature. Quiet. Freedom.

At Youth In Transition, we know that creating safe spaces to connect, explore and build confidence can make a real difference. Time in nature, time with animals and time away from the pressures of everyday life can give young people the opportunity to breathe, reconnect and discover a little more of themselves.

A therapy walk might look like a simple walk in the bush. But sometimes, it can be so much more.
