MHAW - Challenge The Thought

Belonging starts with being heard. Sometimes, we all need a safe space to talk, make sense of our thoughts and feel understood without judgement. Through our Journey Back to Awesome programme, every young person receives free weekly sessions with a registered therapist.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), counselling helps young people challenge destructive thought patterns and behaviours, develop valuable life skills and cope more effectively with life's challenges.

Because feeling heard and understood can help us feel less alone.

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH TIP: Challenge the thought. When a negative thought pops up, pause and ask:

  • Is this definitely true?

  • What would I say to a friend thinking this?

  • Could I look at this differently?

And remember, asking for professional help is a strength.

Everyone deserves a safe space to be heard. At Youth in Transition, we're helping young people find their way back to awesome.
