MHAW - Each & Every Week

Belonging matters - this Mental Health Awareness Week - and every week.

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, let's remember that belonging isn't something we create with grand gestures. It's built through the small things we do for ourselves and for each other.

This week, we've explored how the Journey Back to Awesome programme supports young people through counselling, lifestyle coaching, family support, individual mentoring and support groups.

We've also shared five ways to look after your own mental wellbeing:

  1. Challenge unhelpful thoughts. Pause and consider another perspective.

  2. Build healthy habits. Make time for movement, nourishing food and rest.

  3. Reach out. Talk to someone you trust and ask for help when you need it.

  4. Find your person. Stay connected with people who support and encourage you.

  5. Make space for belonging. Join a group, share a meal or invite someone in.

And don't forget to be kind to yourself. You deserve the same care and compassion you give to others.

At Youth in Transition, our mission is to help young people rediscover their strengths, rebuild confidence and find their way back to awesome. Let's keep checking in, showing up and making sure the people around us know they matter. Because when we feel connected, we know we belong. And belonging matters.
